Job Description: Job Purpose
Under the direction of the VP Academic, the Regional Lead Academics will be responsible for the execution of all academic processes, programmes and related activities in schools, Teacher Training, mentoring and guiding Principals and teachers, liaising as appropriate with internal and external stakeholders and contract associates to ensure achievement of excellence in academic delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
Planning
1 Working with school team to set academic goals to improve learner outcomes and work on strategies to achieve them
2 Working with schools and guiding them on achieving set learner outcomes, putting together additional support plans, preparing and reviewing lesson plans, training teachers on pedagogical
practices to enhance teaching learning experience. Supporting school in putting together School Development Plan, calendars/time-tables and guide the school in achieving set goals.
3 Set requirements for each school – programmes, materials and resources, people, training
4 Participate in programme design and pilot as required
Delivery
1 Work with and support Edunation and school staff to ensure the School annual activity plan is
delivered to schedule, on budget and in line with high quality, efficacy and commitment to teacher
and Principal development
2 Responsible for academic excellence and efficacy per Edunation School commitments
3 Upgrade school for academic excellence with support from School team and Principal
4 Responsible for excellence in teaching at School
5 Conduct and support teacher and Principal skill enhancement programmes as planned
6 Implement various policies and programmes as set for schools from time to time
7 Responsible for all governance and quality control coordination – ensure Edunation and Board policies are followed, monitor documentation, ensure all data for assessments and programme
implementation, support impact evaluation
8 Represent, as required and as appropriate, the Edunation Management with respect to networking and relationship building with targeted stakeholders, organizations and individuals
9 Ensure competent resource hiring of school academic staff
10 Ideate and design programmes to meet curriculum goals and support academic excellence
11 Contribute to the formation of strategy and plans to high standards of academics
12 To identify, support and develop academic leadership at schools
13 Research and identify products that support academic excellence
15 Develop relationships with third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms and manage the
procurement and measurement process.
Knowledge and Experience:
1 Should have 15 – 18 years of K12 work experience; must include teaching experience.Experience as Vice Principal, Head Curriculum or other Academic Head positions would be good
2 Sound knowledge and understanding of the K12 education sector
3 Proven experience in K12 education monitoring, tracking and delivery.
4 Complete understanding of K12 curricula and curriculum implementation
5 Proven experience in the field of K12 Teacher Training and mentoring / development of teaching staff
6 Evidence of successful presentation, interaction and effective networking at senior organizational and industry levels
7 Evidence of using own initiative, with a flexible approach to work and business
8 Fluency in English - both written and spoken
9 Excellent communication skills
10 Interpersonal skills
11 Flexibility for travel
Qualification: Any Graduate
